Light and music on stage
The lifetime dream of Indonesian guitarist Ireng Maulana (organizer and promoter), JakJazz became a reality when, along with a small group of friends, ten years ago he outlined its fundamental features: an event able to bring together the most interesting musicians of the world’s Jazz scene, in a setting that was both intimate and aggregative, sophisticated and eclectic.
The performances of the artists on the essential stage at the Istora Senayan stadium make every evening fascinating, as do the effects of the high profile lighting rig illuminating them.
At the last edition (28-30 November 2008) the light rig was made up of SGM fixtures: Giotto, Synthesis and Idea moving head units, installed on the floor, the backdrop and the overhead trussing, dominated the scene with colours and light beams, further emphasized by the use of four Varismoke smoke machines.
