A prestigious party and an original way to celebrate the final of the last soccer world cup: "Tiempo Xtra", an authentic Mexican party organized by television channel Hispano USA, was held that very night in one of the most exclusive buildings in Berlin, the Axica Center.
A few yards from the Brandenburg Gate, the eye-catching architecture by Frank O. Gehry was the perfect setting for a reception in perfect Latino style, animated by Mexican artists such as Patricia Manterola and Mariachi group Gama 1000.
DESCRIPTION

A lighting design suited to an exceptional building
The evening was held in the Forum, an enormous area in the heart the building, but able to been seen even from outside: in fact, the geometric facades of the centre conceal an empty internal space, populated by bizarre structures with organic shapes, made from various material. Among these, the Forum appears as a transparent glass bubble: During the party, it was filled with colours and extraordinary effects, thanks to the lighting design by LD Pat Henry, who for the occasion used only SGM fixtures.

The rig include the most powerful instruments in the range: The illumination of the ceilings (on three levels) was entrusted to numerous Palco 3, Ribalta and Giotto Wash 400 and that of the stage to Giotto Wash 400 and Palco White. Other Palco 3 units illuminated the external façade of the building with clear-cut columns of colour. The show’s cues were controlled by a Regia 2048 console and four Pilot 2000 consoles.

According to the lighting designer himself, the light beams’ exceptional intensity, the possibility of a colour temperature of 6,000°K, the low consumption and the compact dimensions and light weight facilitated the choice of these fixtures.

The result
The spectacular interior, with red carpets, transparent covering and large Murano crystal items fitted to the first ceiling, inspired the creative fantasy of the lighting design. Bright changing hues reached the ceiling’s various heights, the stage and the guests with varying intensity, creating a whirlpool of colours in perfect sync with the rhythm of the music.
